Hello

Welcome to Hill Country ABA! My name is Ashley and I am a passionate and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I have over 15 years of experience working and volunteering with individuals with Special Needs both inside and outside of the ABA world! The passion that I have for improving the lives of individuals of all abilities paired with my background is what sets me apart! I tend to have big goals for my clients and believe that everyone is capable of reaching their maximum potential.

My Story

My journey into the world of Special Education and Behavior Analysis began when I was just 14 years old. During the summers, I volunteered and worked at a camp dedicated to providing individuals with special needs the opportunity to participate in classic summer camp activities. This experience was more than just a summer job- it was the start of a lifelong passion. I was part of a dedicated group of volunteers who made it possible for campers to enjoy activities like horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, and most importantly, forming friendships. We worked together to ensure that every camper, regardless of their abilities, could fully participate and enjoy these experiences.

The relationships I built with the individuals I worked with at that camp were transformative. They became some of my closest friends and taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, compassion, and the impact of tailored support. This experience fueled my passion for imporving lives by teaching functional skills, social skills, adaptability and behavior management. I learned early on that if there is a will, there is a way- a mindset I carry with me as I set goals and high expectations for my clients today.

After high school, I pursued my undergraduate studies in Special Education at Texas A&M- San Antonio. My time there only deepened my commitment to this field, and I was eager to translate my knowledge into practice. I spent five wonderful years teaching middle school students, where I had the privilege of working with some of the most incredible young minds. While I loved my time in the classroom, I realized that there was more to be done- bigger changes to be made- when I was introduced to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Driven by this realization, I decided to further my education and expertise. I completed my graduate studies in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This step marked the beginning of my journey into the world of ABA, where I have since dedicated myself to helping individuals achieve their fullest potential through evidence-based interventions.

Every day, I am inspired by the progress and successes of the individuals I work with. My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has the potential to grow and thrive, and I am committed to finding the strategies that work best for each person. Whether it's teaching functional life skills, enhancing social interactions, or developing effective behavior management techniques, I am here to make a meaningful difference.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my passion behind the services that we offer. I look forward to working together and supporting the growth and success of those we serve.
